The police yesterday recorded a statement from The Post newspapers managing editor, Joan Chirwa Ngoma over a story the newspaper published on January 9
According to a story carried by the newspaper today, the police were initially meant to record a statement from reporter, Kombe Mataka who authored the story but after Ngoma who accompanied Mataka explained to the officers that it was not the reporters’ responsibility to dictate headlines, the police decided that she too must give a statement.
Furthermore, Post editor in chief, Fred M’membe is also expected to record a statement this afternoon in relation to the same story.
Last Friday, the police summoned Kombe Mataka and Fred M’membe but the duo was unable to go for the recording of the statements due to short notice and academic issues respectively.
