Media freedom world rankings mixed bag for Southern Africa

The latest Reporters Without Borders (RSF) media freedom rankings are a mixed bag for Southern African countries, with some recording gains, while others slipped, an indication that more still needs to be done to improve media freedom in the region.

Zimbabwe falls on world media freedom index

Zimbabwe has been ranked at 130 out of 180 countries in 2021 compared to its ranking at 126 in 2020, new rankings by the Reporters Without Borders (RSF) show.
