We are always on the look out for talented, motivated interns to contribute their passion, enthusiasm and great ideas to the work of our Regional Secretariat in Windhoek, Namibia.

Who we are looking for

The experience and qualities we look for in our interns include:

  • Undergraduate or post-graduate qualifications in media, journalism, communications, law, human rights or other related subject areas;
    Currently in your final year of university or graduated in the last 18 months;
  • A deep passion for human rights advocacy, in particular for defending and promoting the basic human rights of free expression and access to information;
  • Talented, highly motivated and committed to MISA’s vision and mission;
  • A great communicator with excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • A team players who thrives in diverse workplaces and love working with people from all around the region and across the globe; and
  • Flexibility, adaptability and resourcefulness.

How to apply

  • A cover letter explaining why you want to intern at MISA, the skills and experience you would bring to our office, any specific research experience you have and your preferred start and end dates;
  • Your curriculum vitae (CV / resume);
  • A sample of your writing, such as a news article, press release or content for a website or publication, which is written solely by you; and
  • Contact details for at least one person we can contact to provide a reference for you, such as an academic tutor, research supervisor or previous employer.
    After receiving your initial application, we may ask shortlisted candidates to provide additional information such as writing samples or examples of past work.
