What happened
Nyasha Mariga, chief photographer with the Masvingo Mirror, was on 5 September 2025, reportedly assaulted by the police in Masvingo while taking pictures of a mshikashika (unregistered taxi) driver who was resisting the impounding of his vehicle.
The driver reportedly lay under his vehicle to prevent it from being impounded.
