MISA mourns the passing of MISA Zambia National Governing Council (NGC) Chairperson Father Benedict Mwelwa Ng’andwe.

The Media Institute of Southern Africa Regional Governing Council (RGC) has learnt with shock and sadness about the death of the recently elected MISA Zambia National Governing Council (NGC) Chairperson Father Benedict Mwelwa Ng’andwe.

Father Ng’andwe’s death is even more shocking as it comes barely a week after he was elected to the helm of the MISA Zambia Chapter. He was a dedicated media freedom activist and his interest in the media is evidenced by the fact that he was also Chief Executive Officer of Radio Icengelo.

Father Ng’andwe passed on in the early hours of 8 June 2021 after he collapsed at his home in Kitwe.

Prior to his death, he was the Reverend Father of Our Lady of Africa Catholic Parish in Kitwe.

The MISA RGC is saddened by his death as it was looking forward to working with him and drawing on his wisdom and leadership in building the MISA Network into a formidable brand.

The MISA RGC wishes to express its condolences to MISA Zambia and its staff and management during this difficult time.

Equally, the MISA RGC conveys its condolences to the media fraternity in Zambia, the staff and management of Radio Icengelo, and the Catholic Church.

MAY HIS SOUL REST IN ETERNAL PEACE.

Regional Governing Council Chairperson
